The best thing you can do would be to regain control of your blood sugar levels. It’s precisely because your blood sugar levels have been out of control that’s aggravated the situation with your neuropathy.
There are various medications that your doctor can prescribe that may alleviate some of the pain and burning sensations, but it’s a very ‘hit and miss’ situation as what works for one patient may not work for another.

Get sugar under control. To start off this pain may follow you till eternity. The best you can do is Start a anti depressant. A tri-cyclic is the best. Not Neurontin. Then a special B12 (Mecobalamin)and if you doctor hasn’t given you pain meds. , change doctors. You will need them for sleep. I sure do hope that your pain goes away , but mine has not in three years and probably never will. I have my sugar under control, by the way.
