My dog has neuropathy from diabetes. All go through the same experience?

My dog has started to fall because of his weak legs. We took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with diabetes. He has not walked for three days and I think that is diabetic neuropathy, I looked online and they say it is common in cats, but sometimes it can happen to dogs (I believe we are one of the few dog owners go through this) . Has anyone else experienced this? walk again after we get his diabetes under control? no information can be useful.
