that can be used for pain releif for neuropathy of the hands? any lotions?

My grandmother always problems with their hands because of neuropathy. I do not know much about it, but she says her hands are cold, hot and painful, and sometimes she is wearing gloves.     My father used capcason (SP) is in CVS. It is made of peppers so wear gloves when applying it. He says it helps the neuropathy in the feet.
