Neuropathy can be caused by anything that does damage to your nerves. So diabetes is one disease, but also injuries, medications, and posionings from metals, chemicals, or meds. I have nerve pain (neuropathy) in my left hand. I had a flesh eating bacteria that caused me to almost loose my entire hand. I had one finger amputated. The infection did nerve damage. I was on Neurotin, but the side effects kept me falling asleep for days on end and the med was not really helping me. I then switched to Lyrica which is the precursor for Neurotin, and had much better success with pain relief with out the pesky sleeping all the time problem. You may need to see a pain specialist to get real help. Thats what I did. Good Luck. AND if you do try Lyrica, it took about 2 weeks before I saw results, so don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t work real fast, just keep taking it.
Celiac Disease is a common cause of neuropathy. Blood work and/or an endoscopy with biopsy are used to confirm Celiac. These sites willl help, feel free to email me with further questions.
