Neuropathy has a number of causes and treatments that seem to be ever-evolving. The cause can influence the treatment. It can be a very difficult condition to treat. There are medications (neuroleptic – anti-seizure) and narcotic and other pain medications as well as some antidepressant medications that have studies supporting their use. Sometimes physical therapy can be helpful. Sometimes a nerve block is employed. Most major cities or medical univesity centers have specialists in this area.
