Will Weed Show Up In A Blood Test For Peripheral Neuropathy?

My neurologist is ordered blood work to see if it says what could be wrong with me. I'm not sure what blood test is called, but I remember him saying something about peripheral neuropathy. Does weed appears in the blood?

No because your not getting a drug test…

    Shorty,
Though some blood tests will reveal marijuana use, it’s unlikely your neurologist will have you tested for it. Adding unnecessary tests to the cost of your medical treatment is not currently acceptable. It’s expensive. That’s not a guarantee, but the largest likelihood. You have a right to be informed about what you are being tested for before the test. Ask for a complete list of what the test includes. This will probably be a verbal list, but the phlebotimist taking your blood may have a list (for her/him to use) they can show you about what has been ordered.

I can’t specifically address that question, but in general tests are fairly specific. A test for one drug, protein, etc. will not detect an unrelated drug, protein, etc.
Having said that, you should definitely tell your doctor that you smoke pot. Your doctor can’t narc on you without violating doctor-patient confidentiality, and it’s medically relevant. While the test might not show that you’ve smoked pot, the presence of pot in your system might screw up the test.

Yes, the THC in Mary-J will indeed show up in a blood test, urinalysis and it grows out in your hair. Isn’t it grand?
